Looking for a creative, eco-friendly way to celebrate your child’s birthday or special occasion?

Bloom & Bottle: The Floral Herbarium Workshop is a fun, hands-on 1-hour mobile workshop for kids aged 7 and up. Children will learn how to transform recycled floral materials into beautiful, lasting keepsakes known as floral herbariums by creating 3 small glass test tubes filled with preserved florals.

Guided by Helena Rose, kids will explore the art of arranging and preserving dried flowers. They’ll hand-select petals, leaves, and stems from recycled florals, then design and assemble their very own floral herbarium bottles. This workshop encourages creativity, sustainability, and upcycling, teaching children how discarded flowers can have a second life.

Each participant’s creation is unique, as florals are recycled and may vary with each session.

A minimum of 6 kids is required to book a workshop.

Our Story

As a minimal-waste florist, Helena Rose is committed to repurposing flowers to create stunning, sustainable creations. This workshop is inspired by the Japanese art of arranging dried flowers suspended in oil, giving kids the chance to create something beautiful while learning about the natural world.

Floral Herbarium Care

Please note: These are real floating flowers, so some petals may shift. Over time, florals will naturally change colour but will remain beautiful for at least one year. To maintain vibrancy, keep herbariums away from heat and direct sunlight.

Who Are Our Workshops For?

Children aged 7+

Birthday parties, school holiday activities, or creative meetups

NDIS participants and support workers are welcome

Each attendee must hold a registered ticket

Children under 7 may attend if accompanied by a guardian or older sibling a ticket must be purchased for all attendees.

Workshop Details

Duration: 1 hour

Mobile only: Helena brings all materials and guidance to your chosen location (home, office, community space, or hotel)

Minimum participants: 6 kids

Maximum participants: 30 kids per session

All florals and materials are recycled and subject to availability, so each herbarium will be unique.

For private or larger events, please enquire about bespoke arrangements.

All floral programs are NDIS-friendly. Support workers are welcome, but each participant must hold a ticket.

No cancellations. Customers may reschedule up to 7 days prior. Tickets will be transferred to a credit valid for 6 months, redeemable on future Helena Rose workshops, products, or services.
